Calvin Rutherford of Trumann, went on to his heavenly home  Friday, November 21st at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 30 days.  Calvin was born Trumann to Carl Lee Rutherford and Muriel Smith on the 22nd of May, 1941.  Calvin attended school and graduated in 1961 from Trumann High School where he played football.  He also served in the Arkansas National Guard.  He attended the police academy and worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Horseshoe Lake, AR.  He later worked for Cargill and Riceland in Memphis, TN where he worked until retirement.         When Calvin wasn’t working, he enjoyed keeping his lawn perfectly manicured, fishing, attending auctions, and watching football.  He also loved spending time with his family.  He attended Parkview Baptist Church and loved his church family.       Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Rutherford, mother of his daughters, Shirley Reeves; one daughter,  Carolyn Renee Taylor, one grandson, Ryan Taylor; brothers, DeWitt Rutherford, Hugh Allan Rutherford, and Wayne Rutherford; his Father, Carl  Lee Rutherford, mother Muriel Smith and step-father, Rex Smith. Calvin is survived by one daughter, Wendy (Lee Ray) Pickrell of Grandin, MO.; four grandchildren, Coty (Markie) Pickrell, Rachael Taylor, Callee (Jon) Joplin, and Sarah Beth Taylor; 7 great-grandchildren including one soon to be born great-grandson; three sisters, Janice Campbell of Memphis, TN, Linda Wylie of Rosemark, TN and Rhonda Woodard of Jonesboro, AR; and one brother, Clayton (Mary Kim) Smith of Hattiesburg, MS. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25th from 12:30 to 1:30 at Thompson Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert “Bubba Reese” officiating.  Burial will be private. The memory of Calvin will forever be cherished and remain in our hearts. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
