Alvin D. Mitchell

Mr. Alvin Dee Mitchell of Trumann died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 69 years and 2 months. He was born Thursday, January 2, 1947 in Tyronza, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired truck driver, a Army veteran of Vietnam War and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Mitchell and his father, W.D. Mitchell. He is survived by the his wife of 42 years, Marsha Tubbs Mitchell of the home; one daughter, Christy McCaa and husband Mac of Trumann; his mother, Justene Mitchell of Trumann; two sisters, Linda Williams, and Diane Brewer and husband Jerry; 2 grandchildren, Kali Conaway and Ayden McCaa. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. John Maley officiating. Burial will be private in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be Carl Pruitt, Chad Davis, David Davis, Chase Cook, Gary Henry, Jason Cook and Wayne Mitchell Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
