Michael Ray Martin

May 18, 1947 - November 27, 2015

Mr. Michael Ray Martin died Friday, November 25, 2015 at the family residence near Harrisburg (Central Community), Ark., after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 9 days. He was born Sunday, May 18, 1947 in Jonesboro, Ark. and graduated from CRA in Paragould, Ark. He was a truck driver for Cenex Corp.; veteran of U.S. Air Force and the Vietnam War; member of American Legion, NRA, the Super Swine Sizzlers World Champion BBQ Team and of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest R. Martin. He is survived by his wife, Sara Vincent Martin of the home; one stepson, Zachary Vincent of Harrisburg; mother, Wanda Lee Cochran Martin of Trumann; and three brothers, Ed Martin and wife Paula and Dennis Martin and wife Vickie both of Bay and Kenny Martin and wife Kesa of Jonesboro, Ark.. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Marvin Rickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye, Ark. Honorary pallbearers will be Bay High School Class of 1956. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. In Lieu of Flowers the family request that donations be made to the Paragould Children
