Ovada Leona Phillips

October 22, 1912 - July 28, 2015

Mrs. Ovada Leona Phillips of Trumann died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Arlington Cove Health and Rehab in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 102 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was born in Alabama and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a retired cook for the Trumann Schools and a member of Calvary Baptist. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lee Phillips; one son, Leon Phillips, three sisters; one brother and her parents, John and Gruty Jane Hazelrag Bromley. She is survived by two grandsons, Shawn Phillips and Anwar Phillips, several nieces and nephews and her special caregiver Marlene Hancock. Funeral service will be Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Austin Missey and Rev. Ricky Dobbins officiating. A private burial will follow at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza, Ark. Pallbearers will be Floyd Hancock, Keith Blasingame, Donnie Taylor, James Jones, Billy Baker and Grady Rouse.
