Mary Jane BlackwoodApril 18, 1943 - April 26, 2014 Mrs. Mary Jane Blackwood, of Trumann died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 71 years and 8 days. She was born Sunday, April 18, 1943, in Trumann, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ernest and Lessie Bell Powers. She was a housewife and member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackwood was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sullivan Blackwood Sr., two sisters, three brothers and her parents. Survivors include two daughters, Terry (Ricky) Whitaker and Ginny (John) McClaughlin both of Trumann; two sons, Hank (Star) Blackwood Jr. of Marion and Tony (Kim) Blackwood of Trumann; four sisters, Linda Barker, Brinda Barker and Pat Satterfield all of Trumann and Lo Piffer of Phoenix, Az.; two brothers, Eddie Powers of Trumann and Jackie Powers of St. Clair, MO.; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Kenneth Doke and Rev. Austin Missey officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Creecy, Jr., Tony Blackwood Jr., Justin Blackwood, Darren Blackwood, Adam York and Billy Poe. Honorary pallbearers will be Christien McClaughlin, Cory Whitaker, Justin Carlow and Michael Loggins. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
