Lawanda Vickers Walters

Mrs. Lawanda Walters of Trumann died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 12 days. She was born Thursday, November 12, 1936 in Tulot, Ark., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. Mrs. Walters was a housewife and member of The Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny C. Walters, one sister, three brothers and her parents, James Edmond and Bessie Lilian Brewer Vickers. Survivors include one daughter, Marcella (Bob) Mills of Spring, Texas; four sons, Johnny (Deborah) Walters Jr., of Trumann, Mark (Linda) Walters of Dalhart, Tx., Bryan (Nancy) Walters of Trumann and Chriss (Amanda) Walters of Trumann; two sisters, Annettte (Dean) Fortson of Davis, ILL, and Keechia Vickers of Trumann; four brothers, Lavern (Pat) Vickers of Tulot, Eddie (Donna) Vickers of Lake City, Joe (Pat) Vickers and Ira (Sue) Vickers both of Trumann; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Barker and Bro. Paul Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Jay Parnell, Larry Tribble, Danny
