Delbert E. Evans

Mr. Delbert E. Evans of Harrisburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the family residence at the age of 68 years, 8 montghs and 21 days. He was born Thursday, April 19, 1945 in Harrisburg, Ark. to the late Orville Evans and Sara Clark McGuire. Mr. Evans had lived most of his life in the Harrisburg area and was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Central Community Church. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Jean Lawrence Evans, one son, Randall Evans and his parents. He is survived by three daughters, Rhonda (Harrell) Poff of Harrisburg, Devonda (Todd) Pillow of Paragould and Regina (Mike) Hudgens of Jonesboro; one son, Allen Gaskins of Jonesboro; two sisters, Brenda Mullins and Deborah Wilson both of Harrisburg; three brothers, Roger Evans of Jonesboro, Grady McGwier and Greg McGuire both of Harrisburg; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Milton Cowling officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark.. Pallbearers will be Todd Pillow, Harrell Poff, Jayson Cunningham, Daniel Poff, Matt Fahr, Mike Hudgens, Grady McGwier and Brad Swanner. Honorary pallbearer will be Roger Evans. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
