Charley A. Hicks, Sr.

Mr. Charley A. Hicks, Sr., of Trumann died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 20 days. He was born Tuesday, October 9, 1923 in Hampton, Ark. and lived the past eighteen years in Trumann and was formerly of Bay. He was retired from Mid South Mfg., a member of the Trumann American Legion and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Jane Hicks Clem; one grandson, Greg Clem, one sister, two brothers, and his parents, James and Lora Jones Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Agnus Pauline Hicks; one son, Charley Hicks, Jr. (Janice) of Trumann, 1 grandchild, Carissa Specht, and 1 Great-grandchild, Emma Specht. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Bro. Dallas Jack Jones and Bro. Frank Hardwick officiating. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Ark. Pallbearers will be Ken Daniel, Donnie Smith, Bill Wilson, Gaylon Brooks and David Specht.
