Viola BrooksMay 26, 1932 - September 10, 2011 Mrs. Viola Brooks was born on Thursday, May 26, 1932, daughter of the late Eddie Cleveland and Artie Missy Neece Vance. She died on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Woodbrier Nursing Center in Harrisburg, Ark., at the age of 79 years 3 months and 15 days. Mrs. Brooks was born in Philadelphia, MS., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by one son, Eddie Lee Brooks Sr., two sisters, Lena Pearl Tucker and Mary Prestage, two brothers, L.C. Vance and Willy Dee Vance and her parents. Survivors include her husband of 62 plus years, Bennie Ray Brooks of the home; three daughters, Viola Louise Chambers of Trumann, Ola Mae Dertinger of Philadelphia, MS, and Norma Sue Bell of Trumann; three sons, Raymond Ray Brooks of Phoenix, AZ., Billy Frank Brooks and Bobby Joe Brooks both of Trumann; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Providence Baptist Church in Trumann with Bro. Bobby Brooks and Bro. Leroy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, Ark. Pallbearers will be Todd Williams, Eddie Brooks Jr., Joe Dertinger, Cody Craig, Charles Pankey and Cody Eichorn. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelley Walters, Keith Coffell, and Jacob Brooks. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church in Trumann, Ark.
