Albert James MillerFebruary 17, 1925 - February 11, 2011 Mr. Albert James Miller was born on Tuesday, February 17, 1925, son of the late Charlie and Mollie Smith Miller. He died Friday, February 11, 2011 at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 85 years 11 months and 25 days. He was born near Bay Village, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in the Harrisburg area. He was a retired equipment operator for the Poinsett County Road Department. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Harrisburg. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Mannon Miller; two daughters, Velinda Fagan, and Virgina Miller; his parents, Charlie and Mollie Miller; two brothers, Elvis Galloway, Lindy Miller; one sister Flois Wright; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Shane Fagan. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Parnell and Johnny Sr.of Harrisburg, and Merita Merritt and Douglas of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Johnny Parnell Jr., Jennifer Parnell, James Merritt, Benjamin Merritt, and Kim Passmore; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Kincade, Jace Passmore, Gracey Parnell, and Zoe Merritt; and one great great-grandchild, Braydon Kincade. Funeral service will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg with Leroy Franks and Jason Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Active pallbearers will be Paul Miller, Tiny Mannon, Bill Moore, Tony Rice, Terry Smith, and Ronald Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons, Ken Miller, Vernon Galloway, and Randy Passmore, and the Men's Sunday School Classes at the Shiloh and Pleasant Hill Baptist Churches. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital In Little Rock Arkansas.
