Paul J. Weaks

June 18, 1927 - April 11, 2010

Mr. Paul J. Weaks was born on Saturday, June 18, 1927, son of the late Robert and Ruth Caroline Haynes Weaks. Mr. Weaks died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was born and a lifetime resident of Trumann, was a retired fish market owner and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Weaks was preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Oma Grimes Weaks of the home; two daughters, Linda and husband Johnny Blagg of Trumann and Vicky and husband Jerry Stracener of Jonesboro; one sister, Murlene Davis of Marked Tree; four grandchildren, Shane Blagg, Kevin Blagg, Dana Wheeler and Jeremy Stracener and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Gene Hogan and Rev. Bill Stricklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. Active pallbearers will be Shane Blagg, Kevin Blagg, Jeremy Stracener, Ricky Wheeler, Randy Blagg and Jay Parnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud King, Benny Beckum and C.M. Murphy. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
