Doris Evelyn RievesDecember 11, 1938 - April 1, 2010 Mrs. Doris Evelyn Prichard Rieves of Trumann, died Thursday April 1, 2010 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 21 days. She was born Sunday, December 11, 1938 in Trumann the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Pearl L. Dame Prichard. She had lived in Benton Harbor, Mich., before moving back to Trumann in 1978. She was a housewife and member of the Trumann Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Rieves was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Bobby W. Prichard and her parents. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Melvin Carl Rieves of the home; one daughter, Sue Tanner of Mich.; two sons, Donald Pierce of Hartford, Mich., and Daniel Pierce of Coloma, Mich.; two step-sons, Carl Rieves of Edwardsburg, Mich, and Duane Rieves of Quitman, Ark.; one sister, Billie Parrish of Trumann and one brother, John Prichard of Harrisburg; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Miles Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Nettleton Cemetery in Jonersboro, Ark. Active pallbearers will be Danny Rodgers, Bruce Roberts, David Carr, Eddie Mars, Larry Linley and Joe Ussery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Reed and the men of Trumann Missionary Baptist Church.
