Please accept my deepest condolences for Mary’s loss. The death of a loved one can be one of the most distressing times in one’s life and sometimes words cannot ease the pain. However, the Bible is the best source to turn to for comfort in such times. It is so reassuring to know that our love ones are not experiencing pain because Ecclesiastes 9:5 says, “ That the dead are conscious of nothing at all.” Furthermore, Jesus confirmed this by what he said when he learned of his dead friend Lazarus. In John 11:11 he said that “Lazarus has gone to rest and I am going to awaken him from sleep.” Notice that Jesus likened death to sleep, and he further taught that God will resurrect our loved ones from the dead. Please take comfort in John 5: 28, 29 which states that in the last day, “those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…” This means that the dead will come back to life again. How encouraging it is to know that we will see our dead loved ones again. Please take comfort in what Jehovah says in his word, and learn more about Him and His son Jesus through a Bible study with the Witnesses and you’ll be amazed at the wonderful blessings He has in store for those who take the initiative to learn about Him and His Son. (John 17: 3), (John 5:39)
